Bright Nights Social (formerly Third Place Bar) and Boisson are proud to announce the winners of NYC’s Best Bars for NA 2025, the first awards program recognizing excellence in alcohol-free hospitality across New York City. This new initiative highlights the bars that go above and beyond to offer thoughtful, creative non-alcoholic options, and that foster inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome, no matter what they’re drinking. The awards committee selected a shortlist and winners out of over 60 nominations!
Judging criteria
Bars were evaluated across visibility of NA options, variety, creativity, technical quality, bar ambiance, and the ultimate test: Would we recommend this spot to someone who drinks alcohol as a great place to try non-alcoholic drinks? Judges included Sam Bail (Founder, Bright Nights Social), Alex Highsmith (General Manager at Spirited Away, a non-alcoholic bottle shop in Soho), and Vibe Cabrera (Cocktail artist & host, The Vibe Check). The 2025 winners
-

Bar Contra - Lower East Side
Bar Contra is a little hidden gem where you wouldn’t necessarily expect to find a non-alc menu - but in fact, they deliver a wild and wonderful rollercoaster of diverse & creative drinks made using seasonal produce, house ferments, clarified juices, toasted spices... and green beans, y’all.
-

Oddball - East Village
Oddball may only be a few weeks old, but they already made a big impression on our awards committee. We loved the creativity of their four non-alcoholic drinks, most of which are made with ingredients made in-house, the punchy flavors, and the bar vibe that’s giving cozy spaceship.
-

Sunken Harbor Club - Downtown Brooklyn
Website
Kudos to Sunken Harbor Club for pulling off an extremely committed tiki bar concept with excellent non-alcoholic drinks that aren’t just juicy mocktails. Their five “On Dry Land” concoctions are diverse and complex - and any bar that sets drinks on fire is a winner in our books.
-

Bar Moga - Greenwich Village
The non-alcoholic cocktail menu at this Japanese style cocktail bar follows a journey from morning to night, starting with a coffee-based drink, culminating in an amber sky and finally, a white night. We love the creativity and the fact that the drinks deliver what they promise.
-

Golden Ratio - Clinton Hill
Golden Ratio comes into this race hotter than the sun: Every drink on their menu has a non-alcoholic counterpart - not just “we can leave out the booze”, but a thoughtfully designed flavor match. Most of the ingredients are upcycled from their restaurants, making it nearly zero-waste. We stan.
-

The Portrait Bar - NoMad
Cozy, intimate yet maximalist vibes and a short but confident non-alc menu are the key to our hearts. Offering a non-alcoholic Ramos Gin Fizz is a bold move, and it absolutely delivers. Top of our list for date spots where you can happily order a non-alcoholic drink and avoid questionable life choices.
-

Superbueno - East Village
Wait, you’re telling me that the bar that consistently ranks in the “50 Best Bars” is also one of the best bars in NYC for non-alc? Hell yeah. Superbueno offers several distinct NA options including a mole negroni and a killer michelada. Plus all the other “best bars” stuff we love.
The shortlist
The following bars are some of our other favorites that deliver great NA options across the city.

Singlish, Union Square
Dante, West Village
Pearl’s Social & Billy Club, Bushwick
Dynaco, Bed Stuy
Saint Eve's, Park Slope

The sobers
New York City has several 100% alcohol-free bars. Since they’re in a category of their own, we didn’t include them in the awards - but of course, they deserve a shoutout here!
