From pop-ups to parties, we’re redefining what nightlife can look like beyond drinking culture - whether you’re taking a night off, on a longer break, or just curious about what social life can look like beyond alcohol.
The name Bright Nights Social reflects the joy of spending a night out in community, fully present and connected - and a nod to our love of disco balls.
What is Bright Nights Social?
Bright Nights Social, formerly Third Place Bar, curates alcohol-free nightlife experiences in New York City, creating space for people to connect without the pressure to drink.
Founded by Sam Bail in late 2022, Bright Nights Social has hosted nearly 100 events across the city, from parties to trivia nights, dating events, and live music. Beyond events, Sam curates nightlife recommendations, writes a widely read Substack on culture and sobriety, speaks publicly about building more intentional social spaces, and teaches classes on alcohol-free mixology.
Bright Nights Social has successfully collaborated with brands and businesses in New York City, including Shopify, Met Through Friends, Modern Love Brooklyn, Talea, Continuum Club, Playwrights Horizons, and Tata Harper at New York Fashion Week.
